COVID-19: J&K reports two deaths,151 fresh cases | KNO

Srinagar records 47 fresh cases, case tally at 338,198, death toll stands at 4,489, active cases reaches to 1,639, recovery rate at 98.19 percent

Srinagar, Dec 08 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir Wednesday reported two deaths and 151 fresh positive cases taking the number of total active cases in the Union Territory to 1,638. With two more deaths, the death toll in the UT stands at 4,489 and 151 fresh positive cases reported on Wednesday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 338,198. Of the exact number of 338,198 cases, 212,740 are from Kashmir division and 125,458 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 151 new cases, 107 belong to Kashmir division while as 44 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 212,740 including 209,259 recoveries and 2,300 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 125,458 including 122,811 recoveries and 2,189 deaths The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,639 including 1,181 from Kashmir division and 458 from Jammu division. With 111 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 332,070 which is 98.19 percent of the total cases. “Cases tested positive in J&K include 47 from Srinagar, 18 from Baramulla,14 from Budgam, 00 from Pulwama, 06 from Kupwara, 01 from Anantnag, 06 from Bandipora, 15 from Ganderbal, 00 from Kulgam and 01 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 44 from Jammu division include 22 from Jammu, 01 from Udhampur, 02 from Rajouri, 01 from Doda, 04 from Kathua, 04 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 09 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 01 from Reasi," officials disclosed. Meanwhile, authorities on Wednesday said that no fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and tally stands at 49. As per officials figures, 77,704 positive cases including 870 deaths and 76,296 recoveries are from Srinagar, 25,616 including 289 deaths and 25,069 recoveries are from Baramulla, 24,297 including 23,988 recoveries and 211 deaths are from Budgam, 15,632 including 15,401 recoveries and 194 deaths are from Pulwama, 14,804 including 167 deaths and 14,578 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,692 including 16,468 recoveries and 207 deaths are from Anantnag, 10,059 cases including 9,882 and 106 deaths are from Bandipora, 10,798 including 10,630 recoveries and 80 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,524 including 11,394 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,614 including 5,553 recoveries and 59 deaths are from Shopian. In Jammu division, 53,767 including 52,455 recoveries and 1,153 deaths are from Jammu district, 11,445 including 11,302 recoveries and 138 deaths are from Udhampur, 11,343 including 11,089 recoveries and 238 deaths are from Rajouri, 7,968 including 7,801 recoveries and 134 deaths are from Doda, 9,363 including 9,200 recoveries and 152 deaths are from Kathua, 7,169 including 7,042 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Samba, 4,835 including 4,787 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Kishtwar, 6,545 including 6,424 recoveries and 100 deaths are from Poonch, 6,057 including 5,990 recoveries and 67 deaths are from Ramban and 6,966 including 6,721 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Reasi. As per the daily information bulletin 4,693,883 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 3,808 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1,639 persons are in isolation. According to the bulletin, 4,254,441 persons have completed the surveillance period and 429,506 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 18,049,065 samples are available. Out of 18,049,065 the number of samples tested negative stands at 17,710,867 while as 338,198 have tested positive, among them 1,639 persons are active, 332,070 persons have recovered and 4,489 persons have died—(KNO)
